I have always considered myself to be a good landlord, carrying out fairly major updating which is often necessary when tenants remain for a number of years, and not always receiving the same consideration in return. Unfortunately, as I know from experience, whilst some tenants are quite happy to carry out minor day-to-day maintenance as if it were their own property, some barely consider it their responsibility to change a light bulb!! Changeovers can tend to be difficult, as obviously, as a landlord, you do not want the property to be empty any longer than absolutely necessary, so a certain amount of co-operation is required from tenants, something which is not always forthcoming!"Caroline.
