I (Mark) recently attended a professional development course and it was during that course that it became obvious to me that most people are probably unaware of the work we carry out on behalf of our landlords and tenants.

We would like to give you a little insight in to what we do for you whilst managing a property, especially due to the fact that the regulations have changed a lot in the past few years. There are now over 700 pieces of legislation that we need to comply with on a day to day basis.

The first blog will be out in May and will cover the legality of the updated regulations for the gas safety requirements. We felt this was a good place to start as when myself and Kym (my colleague) both started in lettings, 20 years ago, there were only 2 pieces of paper to give to a tenant. They were a gas safety certificate and a Section 20 which would have been used to create an assured shorthold tenancy and it would be served before the tenancy was entered into.

Times have changed and so has our industry and we want to be open and honest with our Landlords and Tenants. We’re really looking forward to sharing our work with you and hope that you find it interesting.
